Highlights of the recent MPRCCC committee meeting held on Tuesday 12^th February 2008

MPRCCC attended the Westernport Festival on the 23^rd & 24^th of February.

This was a very successful event for the club. MPRCCC received a lot of community interest.

170 brochures were handed out to people who showed genuine interest.

Having two RC minis with their ‘A-Frame’ advertising trailers participate in the parade down the main street of Hastings was very effective.

Photographs of cars in parade will be posted on the website.

Somerville Rise Primary School.

Arrangements were made to continue racing at the school. A trailer will be built to accommodate the club’s equipment, as the school can no longer provide a storage area.

Bunnings BBQ

We have applied for a fundraising BBQ at both the Frankston & Mornington Bunnings Stores.

More details will be provided closer to the dates.

Name the ‘Club Newsletter’

Suggestions are welcomed for the name of the Club’s Newsletter.

Please submit any suggestions on or before the next meeting 12/3/08.

New Members

Prospective new member’s applications are being followed up with a phone call.

Working Bee/Inventory/Planning meeting

A ‘Working Bee’ has been arranged to perform an inventory of equipment owned by the club.

Also to be discussed between ‘experts’ will be the proposed Club Cars, New Track Layout  & New trailer design ideas and materials required.

The outcome of the working bee and discussion will be brought to the next meeting.

MPRCCC Race Calendar

The MPRCCC 2008 race calendar has been discussed and scheduled with consideration given, when possible, to ‘special calendar events’, including most VORTECS.

Most race days are planned for 1^st & 3^rd Sundays of each month.

On the occasion of a race day clashing with a ‘special calendar event’ the racing has been scheduled to occur on the Saturday of the same weekend. E.g. Fathers’ Day.

Race dates for 2008 are as follows:

April 6^th & 20^th.

May 4^th & 18^th

June 1^st & 15^th

July 6^th & 20^th

August 3^rd & 17^th

September 6^th (Sat.) & 21^st

October 5^th & 19th

November 2^nd (To be confirmed re: Cup Weekend) & 16^th

December 7^th (Proposed Family Fun Day at the Track with novelty events)

The race calendar on the website will be updated as soon as possible.

Any upcoming events or changes to the race program will be announced on race days.

The next meeting of the ‘Care Taking/Interim committee’ is scheduled for Wed. 12^th March in Somerville @ 7.30pm.
