Highlights of the recent MPRCCC committee meeting held on Tuesday 12^th February 2008

As the previous committee have all stood down a ‘Care Taking/Interim committee' needed to be nominated to continue the general running of the club until an AGM is held and positions are officially elected.

It was decided that 3 positions were necessary for the ‘Interim' committee - President, Secretary and Treasurer.

These positions were nominated & accepted.

The ‘Interim' committee will stand in until a special meeting is held in Somerville on the 9^th of April 2008 in Somerville

at 7.30pm. At this meeting an AGM will be scheduled and all members will be given the opportunity to be nominated for a

position on the committee.

The ‘Interim' committee is committed to upholding all MPRCCC club rules.

Actions from the meeting:

An ‘Update' letter & Membership Renewal Form will be sent to all current & past members.

Updates to information on the Club's Website are being arranged.

The ‘Interim' President & Secretary will be meeting with the Principal of Somerville Rise Primary School A.S.A.P. to confirm arrangements for 2008.

We will be Promoting our club at the Westernport Festival on the 23^rd & 24^th of February have the opportunity to participate in the parade & have a display/stand near other community groups. Plans are underway.

Contact will be made with local schools requesting the opportunity to promote our club at their fete/fair.

Options & Prices are being obtained for the purchase of some ‘Club Cars' for use when promoting remote control car racing at community events & race days.

Options are currently being discussed & quotes obtained to find a suitable product that will be less damaging to the cars to mark out the track boundaries, (E.g. Polypipe).

Denise & Judi have kindly offered to run the canteen on race days. Accepted with thanks.

A fundraising Bunnings BBQ will be arranged/booked for the future.

Highlights' of recent committee meetings will now be made available on the website.

A ‘Club Newsletter' will be created and posted quarterly commencing March 2008.

Advertisements will appear in the ‘Community Diary' of the Local Paper & ‘What's On' in the Herald Sun.

Members will be contacted regarding the 1^st Race Meeting of 2008 after all arrangements have been confirmed.

Proposals that have been carried over for discussion at the next meeting:

• Mixing the race calendar days to include Saturdays or Sundays.
• The MPRCCC race calendar needs to be updated to ensure that special family days are avoided                       throughout the year. E.g. Mothers Day, Fathers Day & Easter etc.
• A New Track Layout
• New trailer design ideas if required.
• Proposed - Obtaining Community Grants to fund special events like Special Race Days for Youth/Community Groups.

The next meeting of the ‘Care Taking/Interim committee' is scheduled for Wed. 27^th February @7.30pm in Somerville.
