i have had this car for about 5 years now... i used it for about a year and then i got a go kart and have raced that ever since. I finnaly pulled it out again and fired it up! still works good... to an extent.



First things first... can anyone identify what the motor is or tell me anything else about my car apart from that its a Kyosho. I am looking at maybe doing a couple of events at some stage depending on time with karting and everything, can i race with this spec? i havernt touched the motor at all.

I am also having some running problems and i beleve it is the carby. A mate who originally got the thing going again said i need to turn the carby to about 4 'full turns' on the jet yet the thing is if i run it at 4 turns the thing wont start and when i had it started i turn it out to about half a turn and it will cough and then stop, starved of fuel. It seems to run really well on about a quarter (from closed)... the other strange thing right, i turned the jet off with it running and it ran REALLY WELL... WHAT THE??



My old man reakons there might be an air leak somewhere which is causing this problem, can anyone shed any light on this?

I most certainly can!



It is a Kyosho spider MkII, the engine is the kit GS11R - it's a good car, you should be able to race competitively in either the stock or the pro stock class.



You should be able to get hold of a carb from a GS15R which has a low end adjustment from someone at the track, makes tuning a lot easier!
