New track / Prez Mike Wade's recent council meeting 2 Years, 7 Months ago
Hello All!!

Whilst on my daily internet surf, I came upon this - I would consider very " [color=red:840e6a3e0b][size=4]alarming " little statement on www.sportrc.cjb.net ( southern peninsula off road track )

I have nothing against those guys and wish them all the best...BUT...

15-5-06. council meeting was today. all seemed to go well. it now looks like we mite join in with another club and create 2 tracks on the one sight. 1 for on-road and 1 for off-road

Hopefully the council meeting they had wasn't with the same council that Prez Mike Wade met with - and hopefully the 2 tracks on 1 "sight" doesn't include MPRCCC !

We all know what happens to clubs when off road & on road are mixed together!

I can explain further if required..!

(HINT : Kyosho RRR on foams wasn't designed to race on bitumen covered with dirt)

OUR on-road track better not be put with the off road guys, i dont want to have to run TREADED tyres and 13mm or ride height to drive on a dirt track when we are supposed to be running ON-ROAD!

ITS ON-ROAD ONLY OR THATS IT FOR MPRCCC!!!!!!!!

The reason why we dont want A Off road Track Right next too us is because Rubber/Foam And dirt dont mix .. we would share the site but we dont want you to close.

straight off the "sportrc" website - obviously it was the same council!

i think the whole idea was to have 2 seperate tracks at the one location. but since it sounds like the mprccc dont want anything to do with it thats cool on my part as well. us just dont get why some of there members are so rude about it. but anyway. lets talk to the council again....at least we are willing to play ball

lordfrosty..

#1 - I hope you are not refering to my earlier post regarding this - particularly the "rude" bit and the bit about the chicken with it's head cut off - it is not necessary.

I speak from experience ( 20+ years in the hobby, 12 years racing off road ) when I say that off road & on road don't mix - and trust me, they don't.

I can name 3 clubs that have tried and failed (very expensively) with this type of arrangement - Keilor, Templestowe & Dandenong - and in all cases the off-road clubs ended up folding due to the pressure put on them by the on-road clubs - I hardly think that this is the end result that you guys would want.

THE biggest reason for these problems is dirt being blown across the on-road tracks - makes on road cars almost impossible to drive - the ONLY solution is astro turf or very wet clay.

#2 - 2 whilst separate tracks on the one location would seem to be an ok idea, the problems we will face are as follows..First of all, I will guarantee that there will be a time when there will be a clash of radio frequencies - nothing like seeing your "four figure toy" spearing across a track out of control into an inanimate object.

Secondly, the tracks would need to be at the very least 500 meters away from each other, something that I would doubt ( but i might be wrong) the council in question would be prepared to organise.

I personally think that Victoria needs an off road track, and as I stated in my earlier post, wish you guys all the best...but not if it's going to be to our club's detriment.

But then again...you seemingly know more than I , perhaps you can shed some more light on this subject..
