Hi Everyone,
My name is Allan. I have raced RC in the past (in Bundaberg, QLD) and was interested in starting racing again. I live in Crib Point and I was excited to find out that there was a club in Somerville which is only 15 mins down the road. I thought I would do a bit of homework and check out your club. I have to say that I was very impressed with your web page and how well it is run. I actually looked on your site and earlier this year went to Somerville Primary on a Sunday to see if anyone was there and if I could get any information. There were a few people there even though it was not a race day and they were very approachable and told me to keep an eye out on the web site to see when things got up and running again.
Well I have been keeping an eye on the web site and the forums to see what is going on with RC in the Mornington Peninsula and I honestly have been turned off wanting to start again. I have a fair idea of what is going on with the club from the forums and thought I would allow you members to see what is going on from the eyes of someone looking in.
So far to me it looks like there are some very passionate people that 'are and were' associated with the club. I don't care about the politics and personal attacks. Honestly if I had to travel to Dandenong I probably wouldn't join a club. I am not saying that there is anything wrong with SERCCC as far as I know but I just would not like to travel that far. Maybe that was part of the reason that your merger did not go ahead but really that does not matter. As far as people saying that they are having their say for the good of the sport please stop. It is obvious from the outside that it is nothing more than ego's and wanting to have the last say that are typing these posts. Next time when you go to touch those keys ask yourself if that is the sort of thing that would make people want to take up the sport or turn them off. Remember kids and their parents can read these posts.
I appologise if this all seems like 'who the hell does this guy think he is ', but I am only doing it to allow you all an idea of how you sound from an outsider. Those that have left then as the regulars say good luck in your new club and please do not spoil others opinion of this club after all it is where you began and hopefully where many more will.
I will keep an eye on the forums and make a decision later but I hope there are more reasons to join soon.

Thanks for all of your feedback. What a shame that you have been put off by the comments that a few indivduals have placed on the forum. I urge you to reconsider your reluctance to join as I am confident that you will find that people who are members of our club are extremely keen to have some new faces around the place and are really a very friendly bunch. Due to the commotion that has gone on, I can understand that you might wish to step back and wait to see what is going to happen, however, I can promise you that the current "caretaker" committee is doing everything in it's power to get this club up and running again, with high expectations as to the future of our club. Hi Allan

I can see where you would have reason for concern.

It is all sour grapes so you are never going to read anything positive from those who want to discredit the club and they have all moved on now
At present there are people working on the web page to eradicate this problem.

All I can suggest you do is do yourself a favor come down to the first meeting in April and meet the guys have a chat and a look around you will find the present members are all great guys

Bring your family along as we are a family orientated club there is plenty of space for the children to play with play equipment available

We have breakfast, coffee, tea, cold drinks, and a BBQ for lunch for a small charge

I hope this will encourage you to come on the day and make your own mind up

I will turn up with no expectations. I currently have a Xray T2 07 and I'm really interested in racing but i think i will just watch for the first meeting. Hope to meet you all there. Regards, Allan.

Bring your car along you know what its like once you see the guys racing, you'll kick yourself for not bringing it so come with a car
and make your mind up on the day
