Is MPRCCC already finished??? 1 Year ago
Just found this on the Rctech forum, it seems that MPRCCC does not get a round of VORTEC this year. Is this because we will no longer be in existence or have we upset some people, either way I think it is a slap in the face and yet another sign that backdoor deals have been done.

Ok, been mulling it over with the "secretary-race director-race organizer-vortec historian".....after careful trolling through the results of the recent VORTEC questionnaire ( thanks to all who contributed ) we have come up with a tentative VORTEC 2008 race schedule.

The results of the polled questionnaire showed the following -

An individual completion was preferred over a teams event
A majority voted for 6 rounds of competition
An overwhelming interest in a night round
That 5th Sundays wherever possible should be used for VORTEC rounds
A big interest in "novelty" events _ i.e. night racing, bathurst endurance, 1 lap shootout.
The introduction of an entry level pro-touring type class....will elaborate on this later..
Unanimous support for trophies at all VORTEC rounds - but only for 1st 2nd & 3rd
the same race director across all VORTEC rounds ( lesser burden for some clubs)

Let us know what you think, the next step is to gather the "jedi" council at Bell's hotel to make it formal.

OK...2008 Vortec GP Challenge Series

Round #1 - Castlemaine /Sun 24/2/08 (3 x 6 min heats, 15 min final - 10 am start)
Round #2 - Geelong/ Sun 30/3/08 (3 x 6 min heats, 15 min final - 10 am start )

Round #3 - Serccc/ Night Round Sat 28/6/08 (4 X 10 min heats, 20 min final -3pm start )

Round #4 - MRCCR Lilydale/ Sun 10/8/08 (3 x 6 min heats, 15 min final - 10 am start )

Round #5 - Serccc / Bathurst Round Sun 21/9/08 ( 3 x 6min heats, Single Lap Shootout, 70 lap PSS Final, 80lap PSP Final, 90 lap PT Finals - 9am start)

Round #6 - Bendigo "grand finale" / Sun 30/11/08 ( (3 x 6 min heats, 30 min final - 10 am start )

I will contact all VORTEC club reps in the next few days - I intend on holding a meeting at Bell's Hotel on WED 23/1/08 - and get the ball rolling

regards

Lue

MIKE

After seeing all the rubbish I have read here and understanding the new direction that the club will be taking should it not "be closed down" as you like to say, I doubt very much that there will be any or enough member sleft to host,or let alone race at any VORTEC round.....after all ,as they say, they only race at Sommerville.

Maybe we did a back-door deal with Keilor as well, as they haven't got a round either..

Look up the word "tentative"....

Don't bother replying , because I can't be bothered with the waste of time.

I think every one should just kiss and make up;
The only thing that has come out of all this talk and Wednesday nights vote is that members have been divided and now forced to make a decision regarding both clubs.
I urge those on Committee just Cancel the meeting inform the members and move on, and those who wish to stay just stay and those who wish to join dandy then do so.
Life’s too short.
Too those who intend to go to dandy, I wish you all the very best and look forward to racing with you all at some of the coming Vortec advents.
.
Cheers Top Cat
MPRCCC 2008
PS: If the Wednesday night is still to go ahead will there be a sausage sizzle. Another idea to raise money for Somie not to mention its right on dinner time.

Hi Bollard,

You didn’t like my idea of a sausage sizzle, why I even thought of bringing my volleyball so after diner we could all have a game and a few laughs.
Any way it’s my turn to cook that night.

Please no beers it’s a public place.

Keep smiling
Cheers Top cat
